Canada’s military honoured at True Patriot Love Foundation’s first-ever virtual Tribute Gala, raising over $850,000

TORONTO,Nov. 11, 2020/CNW/ – Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans and their families were recognized last evening at the 12thAnnual True Patriot Love Tribute Gala, presented by Bell. The event is the country’s largest celebration in support ofCanada’smilitary and was held in a virtual format for the first time due to the pandemic. The event raised over$850,000, which will support local programs across the country that will help address the challenges related to military service. This includes funding for a special expedition in the Canadian wilderness that will bring together military servicemembers and civilian healthcare workers who have been affected by the pandemic. The expedition will provide an opportunity for both groups to share their stories, gain new skills and build on each others’ resilience.The Tribute Gala included personal stories of the foundation’s impact, a conversation with military personnel from acrossCanadaand abroad, and a special performance by a musical group of military Veterans.
